Welcome to a week that included TikTok, March Madness and St. Patrickās Day!
The House overwhelmingly passed legislation to ban TikTok:
But will it ever become law?
Trump said the quiet part out loud:
Insulin remains under threat:
Yes, Big pharma is suing the Biden administration for making insulin affordable. They say his actions are āunconstitutionalā. Itās important to remember that they didnāt invent insulin and it is cheap to make.
The GOPās double standard on documents:
The mystery surrounding Princess Kate isnāt going away:
Boeing is so badly broken itās hard to see how it recovers:
March madness has many meanings:
Wrongoās favorite St. Paddieās Day cartoon:
The history of insulin is similar to that of many drugs. So the R&D is started with non profits (public funded labs) and eventually the drug companies make a killing. Insulin’s development continued over the last century so the insulin delivered in recent decades is not that delivered in 1950. Still this is not an example of government interceding in a private matter. Government funded much of the development, pays for the product via medicaid and medicare and we the people ultimately pay the bill.
This is nothing like the free market dreamt of by Adam Smith.
