Trump threatened to declare a national emergency last week in order to build his wall without Congress’s approval. Had those words been spoken by any prior president, America would be in a panic. We’re discounting the extreme message, because of who is saying it. We are certainly in the middle of a national emergency, but it ain’t on the border, it’s in the Oval Office:

I find the entire Ocasio-Cortez thing amazing. A girl dancing in her college days – really, that was thought to be embarrassing! Also amazing is how her bettering herself (family moved to a better neighborhood – and she went to a really mid range college (not one of the Ivies). In any case it backfired. Even the short clip was not embarrassing – but when the entire clip was shown, well it looked like someone’s college video project, and a very good one.
I also find it odd how the press has made Elizabeth Warren out to be extreme left. In the 1950s and 60s her notions of banking regs and other restraints, especially against usury would have been mainstream.
